Yes, we can!

  • Nov. 4th, 2008 at 12:40 PM

At 9:30 am, I cast my vote for Barack Obama!  I'm 21 and this is the first presidential election that I've been old enough to vote.  I'm so proud and happy.  Let's hope the rest of America makes the right decision.  Here's the day (so far) in pictures.
The line.

Again...in the sun.

:)

The doors opened for our turn!

My sticker.

My daddy voted, too!

I'm so excited!  Barack the VOTE!

Interesting question

  • Oct. 22nd, 2008 at 1:42 PM

This one from Kel

The problem with LJ: we all think we are so close, but really, we know nothing about each other. So I want you to ask me something you think you should know about me. Something that should be obvious, but you have no idea about. Ask away. Then post this in your LJ and find out what people don't know about you!

Blaghh!

  • Oct. 8th, 2008 at 11:38 AM

I'm sick. Like, not just runny nose sick. Like, runny nose, aches and pains, sore throat, and cough sick. Like, call in to work sick. I HATE calling in. HATE IT. I always feel like I should be there. Like I'm missing out on important things. But instead, here I sit at home, wrapped in my comfy lavender sweater. (I call it that because it's a light powdery purple AND it smells like lavender, so it relaxes me.) I'm curled up on the couch with my laptop and watching Evan Almighty between doses. I guess it's not a completely bad day. I WILL be at work tomorrow though.

Oh, and random note. I was watching the Daily Show last night and there was this little infomercial that came on about the BEST thing since sliced bread. It's a blanket with...SLEEVES! So, you can be cuddled up but you can still do things with your hands, like read a book. It's a fleece blanket and it's REALLY big. I must have it!

It's a rainy day in Georgia today, so it's nice and cozy. I LOVE rainy days. I think I was British in another life. Anywho, speaking of Britain, I think I'll make a little tea and try to soothe my throat. TTYL.

Like a Comfy Sweater

  • Oct. 7th, 2008 at 4:02 PM

So, today's my day off.  Luckily, I only have to work through Saturday, so I'll be right back into my relaxation mode again.  I guess work has been feeling a little bit strained.  I've been given a really important job - although, no raise.  One of my coworkers recently got a promotion...and while not completely undeserved, it's a bit over the top.  I honestly don't think that he's going to be able to hack it, especially considering that I'M doing a great deal of the work that will go into what he's doing.  Basically, it's marketing - which is what I've been doing non-stop for nearly the last 2 months straight.  He's supposed to be heading it, but I haven't seen anything he's done.  We send all of our stuff out to a media company to be designed, so he doesn't have to design it.  I do all of the face to face marketing in the community, and have NEVER known him to do any of that in the 5 months he's been there.  I'm trying not to let it bother me.  I guess it's just a typical example of male vs. female income unfairness in corporate America.  Plus, I'm not sharing anything beyond what I have to with him.  He's not going to be able to take credit for my work if I have anything to say about it.

Anywho, I'm done bitching.  Now on to some happy stuff.  I went to bed last night dreaming about a goldendoodle.  I keep thinking about when I get my place, the puppy will be something nice to cuddle up to like a comfy sweater - that can cuddle back and, you know, breathe.  Anywho, here are some pictures of some goldendoodles.

Aw, it's SUPERdog!

Eee!  I want one noooooow!

They typically don't shed - although it wouldn't matter, cause they're so frickin cute!

They're like teddy bears!

I've been tossing names around in my head - I know, I know, it's going to be a while so I have time, but here we go.  Aurelia (for a girl) or Aurelius (for a boy).  Aurelia/ius means "golden" in Latin...and since it's a goldendoodle.....  Aurie for short.  But, I'm not married to that.  I also like Xerxes  (pronounced Zerksees)...after the ancient Persian king - played by Luke Goss in One Night With The King.  HOTNESS, am I right?!

I don't know, I guess I just have a bit of an antiquity obession with the names.  Although, I am a Backstreet fan.  The color of the dogs remind me of Brian...so, if it's a boy dog, I might name it Brian - plus, there's Brian from Family Guy, lol.  Anywho, I'm going to go take some more NyQuil so I'll be able to function at work tomorrow.  TTYL.

Saving Up For...

  • Oct. 6th, 2008 at 8:10 PM

Ok, so I'm saving up for something extra special for after I've been in my new apartment for a while. I've decided on exactly what kind of furbaby I want...its called a Goldendoodle. It's a cross between a golden retriever and a poodle. It's got the softest fur of any dog I've ever felt and it doesn't shed! My neighbor just got one and she's the cutest thing I've ever seen! Her name is Penny, she's 8 weeks old and she's already pretty huge. She ways about 25 pounds and she'll grow to be about 55 to 60 pounds. I'm not a little dog person, so that's perfect for me. The dogs are really sweet and gentle, and loyal to their owners. They're really friendly and good with kids. They come in brown, black, white, or cream. Penny is cream. I think I want a brown one. Time to start thinking about doggy names. Eek! I'm so excited! Anywho, posting here on ny Blackberry is a little bit of a pain, so I'll ttyl. :)

Everything I ever wanted and MORE!

  • Oct. 4th, 2008 at 7:44 PM

Ok, so - the vice presidential debate was everything I ever wanted and WAY more. It was fantastic! Joe Biden did an amazing job and although Sarah Palin did better than I thought she would, she stilled sucked pretty bad. Aside from her basically refusing to answer a question, I have to say that I'm absolutely terrified of McCain's medical plans. He wants to de-regulate that, TOO! Wow, that's special.

This week has been interesting. I've talked to Kevin a lot, I guess since he's coming to see me for Halloween. I even had a dream about him last night. It was interesting. Lol. I also saw. One of my exes at the gyn the other day and he looked REALLY good. Hehe...he still likes me too. We'll see :). Anywho, my dad and I are heading out to go see that new Spike Lee movie, Miracle at St. Anna. TTYL.
